Mini Nichos Workshop

Nichos help us remember and honor people and animals that have touched our lives. A multi-cultural folk art combining religious retablos with household objects and crafts, Nichos can be a fun way to remember someone who has passed on from this life. In this workshop, participants will create their own nichos to honor the memory of someone in their lives, including family, friends, pets, or even a popular cultural figure. We’ll write about the person we’re remembering and then use simple materials and our creativity to make small nichos that can be placed at an altar at the Dia de los Muertos event on November 1 at the Corvallis Museum.

Suitable for ages 8 and up – Children should be accompanied by an adult.
