Join us for an evening of creating at Art Cafe!

The nights are dark, the days are cold. Let’s gather with warm drinks, snacks and crafting. Art Cafe is like Drink and Draw, except there’s no pressure to buy anything (like a drink at a bar). Artists, crafters, makers and creators of all kinds are welcome to join in this community making night. We want to focus on community-creating (creating in community and creating our community), so this evening is open-ended, come as you are, and unstructured.

Bring your work in progress, sketchbook, markers, tablets, sock pattern, jewelry making, polymer clay project… anything you’re working on, and work along side us! Folks are also encouraged to bring snacks and drinks to share. If you’re not able to bring anything (snacks or art), no worries! The studio is PACKED with materials and we’ll have snacks and drink for anyone who comes to share in our creative bounty.

December 20: Dark Nights Art Swap!

For Dark Nights, we’ll host an art and materials swap: bring any artwork you’d like to share with the world, trade for other artwork, or art materials you’re ready to pass along.

This event is completely free and open to everyone 15 years and older*

Common Questions:

• How do I get to the studio?
  • The studio is located in the basement level of the Madison Plaza at 425 SW Madison Ave.
  • Entrance to the basement is through the main doors on Madison Ave (between Everbowl and Coffee Culture). Then take the stairs to the basement.
  • Accessibility note: For guests needing to use the wheel chair lift, head to the north end of the ground floor.
• *Why is this event 15 years and older? Can my child come with me?
  • This is an adult event to ensure safety and comfort of all who attend, there are LOTS of kids/ all-ages events coming to the studio VERY soon.
• What if I don’t have a project to bring?
  • No worries! We have lots of materials you can use, as well as some need-to-do projects you could help with!
• What are we going to be doing?
  • We’ll hang out, have snacks and drink, chat and share our projects. Stay as long as you want, leave when you’re ready!
• I have a food allergy/ intolerance.
  • The food provided by the studio will have detailed lists of ingredients. We’ll ask all folks who bring foods to fill out an ingredient allergen form as well. Please be careful with your consumption. You are welcome to bring food just for you or to share!
• Can I bring alcohol or other intoxicating substances?
  • No, thank you! We are not permitted to serve or supervise alcohol or drug consumption.
